A 4000 hour mil pilot is more likely to be retired than in the reserves.
When a legacy sets their mins at 1500 hours, that's not for CFI's, regional or ULCC pilots... that's for fighter pilots only (or possibly identity politics).

I’m in the same boat as you! I look much younger than I am. When I’ve jumped on Southwest in the past I had this said numerous times, “I’m sorry we’re not hiring, we’d love to have you on board” I appreciate the kindness but I don’t think realize how content I am at my ULCC! I can understand their sentiment from contracts in the past but currently we’re pretty competitive esp when it comes to QOL!

When I was at a regional, I would go to a family event. Some distance cousin that I barely know would ask me "Have you thought about working for Delta?" Jeez, ya know, I never thought about applying to a major airline. Maybe I should put my app in. Thanks for the advice!

“You see this BS they awarded me? I asked for one day off 5 separate ways and guess what… I’m still working that day! Guess I’ll be calling in on that day. Been here 22 years and still can’t get the days off I want..!” Turns and looks at me in the jumpseat. “You got your app in? We’re hiring!”

So they were right. You still left jetblue for the big 3. Why would you be offended if they said we’re hiring while you were jetblue?
