Default “So do ya know we’re hiring , App in?”

As a nearly 9yr NK guy, I may look a little young, however I still get asked all the time by certain companies (gate agents/ops agents/FAs), “So do you have you’re app in, do you know we’re hiring?” I’m usually polite but with a little sarcastic twist, “So are we!” I usually say. I know they’re coming from decades of Koolaid drinking and just seemingly being polite, but it’s becoming a little ridiculous. I like where I am in all aspects! I keep up with all the hiring and industry news, does anyone have any similar experiences. Cheers.

gate agents and ops agents ask you if you have your app in??? I’ve never heard of them asking. Just other pilots.

That is the equivalent of being a corporate or cargo pilot and having your non-aviation friends ask you if you want to be a commercial pilot someday.

I tell the mainline guys that the regionals are hiring and they with their outstanding credentials they'd be at the top of the list for consideration.

Man I’d love to be in the cockpit and see the look on some senior captains face when you said that. His head might explode.

I remember jumpseating while at Spirit on Delta. The FO asks if we are hiring, I said yes (wondering why he was asking.)

He says "Cool, im trying to get my brother a job and some experience before I can bring him to Delta, he only has 1500 hours"

(Spirit's mins were 4000 at the time)

"Yeah, well the current mins are 4,000 right now, so not sure he will be competitive with 1500 total time"

(He looks confused) "Thats more than Delta!"

"Ok, thanks for the ride"

The entire experience was just humorous because how some people can be so clueless

Military pilots are oblivious to what airline experience means. I’m guessing that FO had just separated from the USAF/USN
