Copied from elsewhere (AA)

On Debt: it is significant that the company has paid off approx 4.1B in debt since the high water mark of July 2021. They are right on track to pay off their planned in 15+B debt by 2025 even by conservative estimates on free cash flow and capex. Considering the difficulty of the environment over the last year, they have done the hardest work first.

I mean, I’ve heard it a couple times here but any time there is a non normal we say “my aircraft” not “my jet.” So if anything we tend to use “aircraft” vs “jet.” I haven’t legitimately heard anyone saying, “hey I’m heading down to the jet” or “what jet are you on?”

Another made up AAism?

That said… yes. Go to UAL in your case.

Why are they called jetways or jet bridges?

its an Air Force thing, most of us call the plane “the jet” it’s just the way it is. Be glad that not all of us flew fighters and bring all that nonsensical verbiage into play.

I actually have heard this a lot in the schoolhouse at FDX. I always thought it was weird but never asked why. Never heard it on the line though.

it’s quite popular at Brown as well. Never understood it but I also didn’t graduate from the academy.

man I don’t even remember what I call it. Sometimes the jet. Some times the plane. Sometimes the ship maybe? Maybe “her” or “it”? This is actually a thing people think about?

Man I’ve been working on this with every captain I’ve flown with at delta since 2015. Even the civilian guys. The air craft is “the jet” and the f/o is “the co-pilot.” It’s like I’m in a bad 1970s movie about airlines.

I am holding a CJO to United, and a CJO to American. I currently work for an AA wholly-owned, and live in Chicago.

So... both airlines have bases in ORD, and both are good fits for me.

I'm curious what some of you think are the plusses or minuses for each company. Why would you choose one over the other in my situation?

If your timing works. Go to AA, collect the bonus then go to United.
