I also commuted on UAL for over 4 years exclusively, they were the only game in town. There are plenty of guys there that might not share your view point, or what you are inferring, sorry.
You and Saab have been the two biggest critics, that's why I addressed the post to you guys.

Not sure what your Father and Brother did at UAL or what they told you, but I just found a few viewpoints from UAL pilots that seemed to differ from what you and Saab were talking about.

Not trying to change your mind, just providing food for thought.

You should have said that earlier... I worked for A UAX regional for four years and I was a commuter as well. I know TOO WELL what some UAL pilots thought of the regional pilots! Look, DDJ, I am not saying "woe is us"... and "blame the white man".... so I will explain it to you like I am talking to a two year old.

Fact: You and SB have very strong feelings about AA/EEOC based on your "experiences". You and SB are crying about the "wrongs" happening now by the comments you have made on this website.

It is easy for you to point out issues in minority hiring BUT the world is not a fair place. The reason why history is mentioned because there was a time when NO minorities or women were hired..regardless of qualification! History is mentioned NOT to whine about it BUT to say this is something that needs to be FIXED. Again some posters have mentioned minority incidence stats BUT where are the rest of the stats. Accidents/Incidents affect the whole pilot community regardless of race or sex. Are we to believe that all accidents/incidents are caused by hiring under-qualified minority/female pilots? I have personally flown with 300-400 hour wonders who were actually sharp and seemed to be more competent than some pilots with three times their experience.

If you got a chance to go to UAL with only 600 hours of flying, would you say NO... I am under qualified?

Dude, Let's face the facts... the system is not perfect! Some guys have all the luck, some guys will have some bad experiences. I am NOT looking for sympathy from you or anyone else... I am not whining about past or present injustices!

My point is simply this ... because of past/present events and the mistreatment of certain americans...an EEOC/AA initiative was developed. IT IS FACT!

The politics behind hiring practices is just that ... POLITICS!

You complain about unfair hiring practices concerning minorities/females...
BUT I BET YOU WOULD JUMP ALL OVER THAT OPPORTUNITY!

And believe me... NOT every minority gets these opportunities.
