I like Haynes 100% cotton, specifically because it doesn't retain sweat smell after wasing like synthetics. Or you can use laundry soap for athletic wear, that seems to work on my gym gear.
For socks, military dress socks are light and breathable, I assume civvies can get those somewhere.
For more cushion, I like Soxs Town cushion crew socks.

OxiClean White Revival for all your pilot shirts and undershirts. Skip the bleach, just add a bit of detergent. You'll thank me later.

The Oxy does a great job though, plus no yellowing with happens with bleach.

I wear the tee style undershirt and boxer style underwear. Soft, comfy, and decently cool in summer.
For socks: Under Armour over the calf https://www.amazon.com/Under-Armour-...ps%2C97&sr=8-3
Don't laugh; they're durable, stay up all day, aren't too hot even in summer, and while they aren't "compression" per se they are nice and tight and may help with circulation.
