Default Any new SWA information?

Specifically on if they are still considering moving the time between interviews from a year to six months? They told us this in our interview group back in May and I have not heard anything or read anything else on it since. Thanks in advance to all who reply.

With the slow down of aircraft delivery's, I don't think it will happen. Pool is getting rather large now.

I was kind of thinking that may be the result. Thanks for the reply.

Pool is 200+.

However--go GET THE TYPE! You could get called tomorrow! (conversation in May with SWA HR with a poolie just recently told "uh....nothing until late September--and those are tentative...)

The type factories will get their money, however--so all is right with the world.

For awhile I debated over getting the type. I'm going to HPA on Monday!! SWA is comfortable with "not interviewing without the type" and they could easily go back to that. Gotta do what cha gotta do!

March pool dates are getting classes in July and August, so there's a 4-5 month wait right now.

At a get together with SWA in March, we were told SWA plans pilot manning based on 10.74 pilots per jet. Also, pilot retirements average 130 to 150 a year.

With adding a net of 19 planes to the fleet next year and figuring 130 to 150 retirement replacements that would mean hiring of 334 to 354 pilots for '08.

It sounds like hiring is slowing already. A buddy of mine was scheduled for a July class which has been cancelled. He's told he'll be in the next class but doesn't date yet. He's hoping for early August.

Anybody know how many are in the pool now and any updated information about classes per month and class size?

I've been told only one class in July, and August classes are still up in the air. Could be 1, 2 or 3. People dept should find out about Aug in a couple of weeks. The more the better--I'm still in the middle of the pool.
