The last two times they voted, they voted to become a state. In 2020, 54% of voters 53% to join.

Voter turnout was 55% and 23% in 2017. The 2020 vote was not accepted by the U.S. Department of Justice. Most people who I spoke with during the year I lived there favored an independent commonwealth. Yes, it’s a random sampling. But living there full time and actually being in the community (not just some SJU overnight) gives some perspective.

And thanks for the community college cutdown. It’s ignorant. As I said, I was a resident.

PR cannot become a state since they have essentially been colonized by American mainland voters so PR needs to be cut loose. Puerto Rico for the Puerto Ricans. I’d gladly then welcome them into the Union.
