Friend of mine has an Aug 22nd class. He had to pass on the Aug 1st class. I can't remember when his DB was exactly (Apr or Mayish), but, yes, he already had the type. Got called last week for it.

My pool date is 22 May. I heard from a friend that the PD told him that there would be 3 classes in Aug, 2 in September and no more classes for the rest of the year. Another fellow poolie said today that his PD contact told him 3 classes in Aug, 1 in Sept and none for the rest of the year.

I hope I don't have to wait until Jan to start class, but I guess it's better to be in the pool than out of it.

I'm hearing the same thing. A buddy of mine in training now called to tell me that the pilot group is having 3 classes in Aug. Another friend, and fellow poolie was told no more classes after Sep. I'm right on the bubble, and may have to wait 'til next year as well. I'm calling tomorrow to find out for sure. :confused:

I wouldn't sweat it too much guys. It's common for the PD to say there will be no more classes beyond a certain date. I wouldn't be surprised if they schedule more classes after September. I was hired into a class in 2000 that was not scheduled until a month prior. They said "no more classes after X month" and then scheduled one anyway. Then again, what do I know? I'm just a line jockey. :)

I believe that DB is not relevant to pool date. If typed, your pool date is your interview date regardless of DB date. If not typed your pool date is the day you get your type.

I called yesterday morning to inquire about a start date and was told that if I didn’t hear anything by the middle of next week to call back. I got a call this morning and was offered the August 15th class. My pool date was March 19th and my date of availability is August 15th. There is another class tentatively scheduled for August 22nd and then two in September. Calls for the August 22nd class should start sometime next week or the beginning of the following week if they do indeed have one. There are no classes scheduled for October or November and possibly one in December. I asked if they were planning on stopping the interview process in August as previously posted and I was told that they were going to continue to interview, just at a slower pace.

It is good that we have all these friends and buddies to get all this good gouge. Live by the gouge die by the gouge.

It is funny to see where we think the bubble is or would be if there are no classes after Sept. I interviewed with the type on April 23 and I think I am on the bubble. Hoping to start in Sept but the guys in the Aug classes are filling them up with March pool entry dates.

Have fun swimming I am positive it will be worth the wait.

I hope you're not on the bubble, since you are a month ahead of me! Good luck--I think you still have a shot at a late Aug class.

Anyone heard any rumors about plans for the new LAS domicile? With the slowdown, is that location opening on schedule?
