This is what happens when you get bureaucrats in charge. After all, the government is there to help, right? ;)

Have you been to Ft worth?? Even on a VMC day they’re vectoring you off the arrival and slowing you down. Add any wx in the very big state of TX and they just shut down.

This is accurate. I don’t think I have ever flown a star from start to finish there as planned.
About the only time I ever remember doing that is LAX ANJLL arrival from the east. Cleared arrival, approach, and landing 25L abeam vegas. |

I'm still waiting for the day I get a shortcut over Groom Lake.
As for flight through "military" airspace, it happens all the time. VFR traffic is unrestricted and uncontrolled through MOA's, and IFR the MOA exists to separate military and IFR traffic. It's done all the time. Same for TFR's, when IFR traffic s routed through temporary flight restrictions. It happens frequently. |
