They aren’t lobbying against the MAJORITY of their dues paying members. Feel free to turn in your card at any time and pay the maintenance fee for the incredible contract you work under. You had your time and when you signed up it was 60 and you knew that then, yet you continued.

Anyone that has sat on enough Jumpseats watching the 60+ knows that experience matters up to a point. The ability to use short term recall and multitask is highly degraded. If it was about aviation safety you’d take that wealth of knowledge and teach someone in a piston single where only the two of you are at risk, not my family in the back of a jet.

The day we take a family member’s keys is a tough day but we know it has to be done. Driving is not a right it’s a privilege. Flying a jet with people in the back is not a right either, it’s a privilege. You have a he right to work doing something else.

That’s well put. I’m early 50’s with close to 20k hrs. Can’t really imagine wanting to go over 65. The goal is still pre 60 as that was the plan when I started.

Yeah, it was 60 and the unions went against their memebership then as well and supported it to go to 65. Go look it up. One union in particualar their President spent union money and testified before congress in favor of changing it, claiming age was just a number, and the membership majority was against it then, but that did not stop them. Also ALPA was for age 65 as well. So you can't have it both ways. Show me a accident report where by age caused a accident in 121 operations or even 135 opertations. I'll wait.

Statement of Capt. Duane E. Woerth: The FAA Age 60 Rule (alpa.org) ALPA polled their membership and this was their intial response, but later went on and supported the age change to 65! Having it both ways?

age 67 is dead !!!! for now , because I think ICAO is the driver on the issue and not the FAA .
make sure you don't have a heart attack because you would not be able to get a job with a 135 operator when your time comes

move on

“Right to work” is the scab credo.

Yep. There are plenty of the proponents that are making arguments that are interchangeable.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why some of these pilots would like it to change, but the ones using rhetoric that sound "scabbish" act like the age was moved from 67 down to 65 suddenly and that they lost something. It did not. They are no more entitled or hurt than the pilot that retired at 65 2.1 years ago.

Well it is obvious ALPA does not care what you think either!! They went against their membership for age 65 and will probably do it again with age 67, when they realize there's money in it for them.

Was ALPA promoting SCABS when it voted against the majority on 65? Sure seems like it.

You're a liar.
