Default Pilot Experience

Had a line-check last week and the check-airman said that the FAA was seriously lowering pilot experience requirements (62 hours in a simulator to achieve ATP). I've researched this and have found nothing. Anyone else heard of this?

Default MPL not ATP

Some of the info in your post is right but the way it's put together way wrong. If the MPL program works overseas (pax are not getting killed daily at the hands of MPL pilots), then it will be considered here.

62 hrs of flight time+a bunch of sim time=MPL not ATP

Basically an OJT FO training program. The airlines will be pushing for this because it will create an unlimited suppy of new pilots and prevent any real shortage from ever occuring in the US which will enable them to reach their goals of further reductions in pilot pay.

Pilots think the money is going to come back.

Airline leaders think significant costs reductions can still be made with regards to pilot pay.

The 150k/yr question Who will win?
