Marty,

DAL has hired (put into class) 298 people so far this year. There are two more classes this month, Oct 15, and Oct 29. There are plans to hire around 700 pilots next year. They are short staffed on the big planes which is nice becuase it means you can get wide body international as a new hire. We had 16 757/767 spots in my class of 24. There has already been 3 bids this year and Nov 1st is scheduled as the next one. Good chance to move around if you don't like what you get as a new hire. Good luck..

Does anyone know how long of a break to expect between Indoc and Acft training? I'm hoping for the 76 out of ATL. I have heard 4 weeks...sound right? I'm in the 15th class by the way.

C-17,

You can expect any where from 2.5 to 4 weeks "off" after indoc. Depending on how high the last four of your SSN are, you will be able to pick the 767. We only had 4 spots to ATL and they went 1,2,3,4. Good luck on the drop...

Are all the 76's domestic? I don't recall seeing the ER out of ATL. Is that happening yet? My last four is 89** so hopefully I'll get it. Thanks for the info..I really appreciate it.

C-17,

With that SSN you should be golden, like in the top 4-5 people I would say. There are some 757/767 domestic from ATL and a VERY FEW ER routes out of ATL but not for new hires. I don't think there has been any in the last 7 months. If you want the 767 ER it will be out of JFK.

DT by "(put into class)" I'm not sure if you're (1) combining new hires with recalls, or if you're (2) hinting that some new-hires didn't make it through the training program, or (3) all of the above. Could you clarify?

Do you have info on how many were recalls, and how many were new-hires?

Best Regards,

Onfinal

That sounds like the "new hire" number - #6759 is the first person hired this year #7053 is the last 10/01 pilot. This does not include any recalls.

There are still a few pilots who have not accepted recall.

That number is for new hires that have started class. There were a few folks hired from my interview but were not available until Dec so they are technically hired, but have not started.
