A new CEO at Virgin America----David Cush, former VP Sales/STL/Int'l at AA.

A shame they had to lose Mr. Reid.

You mean a shame becaus ewith Reid in charge VA will go Chapter 7 in less than 3 years? he did not do a very good job at Delta. Of course I wish they would have hired Mullen to replace him....that would sure put them under in no time at all...

I think Reid had to leave as part of their certification process, he knew he could only be there for a very short time, it was some sort of compromise between Sir Richard and the DOT if I'm not mistaken...as always, I could be wrong!

that's what happened, the DOT believed Reid was too close to Branson to run a really independent US owned airline. Too bad, Reid was very worthless at Delta . Anyway they hired that AA guy, together with Carty they will poison the place soon enough.....good riddance VA.

Correct; it was required by DOT as a stipulation when they got their certificate.

I think he did well, under the circumstances.

That is just great. You would wish VA away and put even more pilots on the street . . .

Rhetorical? Of course not, however from what I have seen it is a good operation (e.g. Zagat). You have to start somewhere right.

How many pilots turned their noses up at SWA when they launched?

I had one coming back from somewhere to SEA recently. She had a huge pair of.....wings (You know those heavenly body wings they wear in the ad?) that were difficult to stow. The only reason I knew about it was because the FA's were talking about the difficulty stowing those things.

I made sure to compliment her on her wings. "My that's a nice set you've got there!"
