Default Delta Jan classes

I started this thread for people in the Jan classes to communicate and spread what info we all know about Jan classes.

I got a call from Brian for a Jan 7th class. He said it would be "a variety of airplanes and a variety of bases" but he didn't have specifics. He implied as it got closer it might get more concrete, but he didn't know at the time we spoke.

My Delta friend talked to crew planning and their way to expect 70 a month of new hires starting in January. Nice!

When did you get the call from Mr B? How long after the "OK TO TRAIN" e-mail was that?

Thanks,
SJ

I had a bit of delay (I was stuck in the pysch hold for two weeks) between my interview and the "OK to Train" email, but Brian called I think four days after I got that email. A friend of mine who did not have any delays after the interview got his call a week after the "OK to train".

However, I interviewed with someone who has been waiting three weeks since the OK to train email, so I guess it can vary.

Hi guys/gals,

I know this thread is intended for those who already have a class, but you would be the best to answer my questions. Yesterday, I got the email from Delta inviting me for an interview. I've read most of the gouges and my big question is: From what book or from where do you recommend brushing up on my aeronautical knowledge? Should it be from Mental Math for Pilots or maybe from the Gleim? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Nacho

Nacho,
The aeronautical test is truly a breeze. Mental Math and Gleim are good resources, but don't sweat it too much.
Lots of questions with a lot of useless info, so read the question on the bottom first and then fish out the necessary data for computations.

The "latest and greatest" has good info on that.

iaflyer,
When did you interview?

Here's my timeline:
I got an email offering an interview around September 20th.
I interviewed 10/23 and 10/24.
On 10/26 I got the email that I was in the psych hold.
On 11/16 I was notified I had been accepted by the review board.
On 11/21 I was called by Brian, but I was flying when he called. By the time I landed, he was gone for the Thanksgiving weekend.
I got the offer with a class date on 11/25.
Barring any unexpected problems, I should be starting class January 7th.

They have hinted at 70 a month through next fall. If that comes true, you will all be in a very good position next winter.
Published numbers are at least 625 for 08

My timeline was/is:
10/4 interview offer
10/25 - 10/26 interviewed (asked for first available date)
11/3 received "abnormal" labs letter from concentra medical (total chol was 204)
11/9 cleared to train email awaiting class date
11/27 still waiting to hear. I think it is a little unusual right now with the holidays!

Happy holidays, best of luck, and hope to see you guys/gals on the 7th!

Anyone know if a long wait for a cleared to train letter is a bad thing? If held up by the psychologist is that something you generally hear about right away? I got the conditional offer over 2 weeks ago and have heard noting yet. I'm starting to get a little worried.
