DETROIT, December 8th - Spirit Airlines has launched its second questionable airfare promotion: 2 girls 1 seat, that is two seats for the price of one starting January 1st until January 31st for online tickets. This appears to be a wordplay on a popular website address that is currently making it's way around the internet.
The announcement comes amid controversy of the current M.*.*.*. campaign which many have perceived as street slang for "attractive mothers" We contacted Spirit Airlines promotional director to clarify the campaign and it's racy message. The airline contends they had no idea the average person would catch on to the phrase and had to rethink it's strategy. Marketing executive Mark A****s tells us they have found a rather large and brand new segment of people underserved by airline current promotions.
When asked about public perception Mark replied, "We feel this campaign is also a bit more underground as compared to the M.*.*.*. campaign and we estimate we will have far less complaints from the general public. The website in question is pretty disgusting and even if people have seen it they will not want to volunteer the possibility that they have seen it to peers by filing complaints."
This of course does not mean that Spirit Airlines condones anything people may have seen on the internet to perform on their airplanes or in airport terminals. However Mark did tell us Spirit Airlines would not be opposed of two women sharing a cup of hot chocolate to one of its many destinations.
Mark continued about this new strategy and how to market them.
"From our previous campaign we learned there are a lot of freaks out there. I mean who else will buy a ticket at the last moment just to get a piece? These people are driven by a stronger motive than the most aggressive business passenger and they will pay triple the fare."
Spirit Airlines, Inc. is the largest Ultra Low Cost Carrier in the United States, Latin America and The Caribbean. Its all-Airbus fleet, the youngest in the Americas, flies 185 daily flights to 36 destinations. The company is based in Miramar, Florida, and employs 2,200.
