It not the company that's lowering the bar. They provide a safe and good product with customer satisfaction. your fellow airmen lower the bar by accepting lower wages for the same work. I have to tell you ... I hat the term "lowering the bar". That started after 911 when DAL, NWA, UAL etal... ratified contracts with their respective carriers to work for lower wages without guarantee of restoration to equity prior to the reduction of such wages and benefits.
