I know a Captain who is retiring early (before 60) to get the most out of his retirement and pension. Don't think there's enough pilots doing it for AA to start hiring anytime soon though.

Isn't that exactly how CAL hires people?, or if you bang a wing-tip you get hired, thats how they role down there in H town

haha just some girl who banged a wing-tip on landing and FO took over went around, she freaked out all hysterical...................................weeks later she is in a new-hire class at CAL............. (this is one of the stories I have heard) Might be off slightly, but basically she smacked the wing-tip on like a 10kt crosswind and ended up at CAL

175 of 176 60 year olds @ CAL

I saw 2 retirements on the board in Houston two days ago. There pictures were signed like they were the most popular guys ever to fly for Cal.
