The senior guys ae NWA still have their full pensions... I hope they take them and leave.

Quick answer, we're not gonna hire for a long time.

Agree 110%. No hiring for 3-4 years, earliest. I'd bet my retirement on it, without hesitation.

(this is one of the stories I have heard) Might be off slightly, but basically she smacked the wing-tip on like a 10kt crosswind and ended up at CAL

I know for a fact, she did bang a wingtip, she was the FO and she is now at CAL, in fact, she was one of the first ones hired off the street once the flow thru was done. The CA grabbed the plane from her too late, and no, she didn't freak out, she didn't even realize that she screwed up! The CA ended up having to do a nice little ride with the FAA, which he did a great job with by the way...oh, and she was an intern over there after college, total time around 1200 when she went over, 0 PIC.

between 1200+ furloughed to recall, and contract negotiations that are going to get VERY ugly.. I doubt they'll hire too soon from now. But FWIW, I was hired in 2001 with 3600TT, 2600 multiengine-turbine and 500 PIC in the ATR72. I had a degree and was 30. I knew nobody, but went to a pilot hiring convention and hit it off with one of their recruiters (a 767 Checkairman), who to this day is a good friend.

Networking was probably what got me in with only 3600.
