DAL/NWA reported on CNBC

CNBC reported that merger talks between DAL and NWA are picking up and that an announcement will be made next week. They also reported talks between CAL and UAL are becoming "more serious". (report at 4:15 local). Anyone hear anything else.

That is what the Wall Street Journal is reporting...

The so called experts have been saying for the last five weeks that we will hear something in the next two weeks. Apparently now the magic date is the 15th. I'll believe it when I see it.

DAL+NWA....what an aweful fleet mix that will produce.

No Kidding...

Sources within the Company and ALPA are also saying everyone is up in New York for the annoucement.

However, such poorly held secrets have a lousy track record of coming true. If this happens, I will be a little surprised and dismayed at the lack of discipline.

It's always next week.

I guess the super Tuesday results look too democratic, so it sparked a new round of negotiations.
I watched the CNBC "next week DAL+NWA announcement" footage too.

How long will it take to hold 747-400 F/O in ATL?

Does anyone really believe that commerce and transportation departments are going to let 4 of the largest carriers merge into two?????? one merger maybe...two.... just seems crazy to me.
