Bar,
You have been there for less than a year and all of a sudden you think that you are DAL and know what DAL should do? Soon you will realize that you are the same pawn that the rest of us are. Just go along for the ride, go to work, cash your checks and pay the bills. If you want to change things, run for President. |

Sure, no one is listening. You are correct, but I thought the reasons forums exist was to share news and opinion. The point is that they (and I know there is a difference between them "they" and myself, therefore I NEVER say "we") have money. As for your previous point that NWA was posting a profit because of a shrinking fleet, every one of your post has to do with them "shrinking" this year which has NOTHING to do with 4th quarter results. I could make the same argument that they are shrinking and buying other assets so they could get ready to merge with DAL. The fact that you think that DAL is investing in the "pilot senority list" speaks volumes. The sooner you face the fact that you are just a number on a list that is considered to be a liability twice a month (payday), the better. If DAL, NWA, UPS, or any other company could make money without you, they would. What were you doing when DAL had to scream bloody murder to get the same pay as UAL? Where were you when NWA pilots had to go on strike in 1998? How about the UPS strike and the AMR sickout? Eastern? UAL? Must I go on? The only thing these airlines are investing in are their bonuses and stock options. Dude, once again, you just got there. This merger has been planned for quite some time, probably before you even put your application in. Just sit tight and try not to upset everyone. The last thing you want is a US Air/Am West type merger. Trust me. Relax. |
You are correct. Thanks for your civility.

Hi!
The government has total control over airline mergers. The government WILL approve these mergers, because it is needed for the health of the airline industry. The US railroads used to have thousands, if not tens of thousands of individual railroads. Now there are basically four (five if you include Canada). The oil companies did the same thing, with gov't approval. The good thing will be that it will over, and those of us trying to get career jobs will have a much better idea of where to go. It is REALLY hard to figure out now, with all of this merger uncertainty!!! cliff GRB PS-Obviously, some people will lose their jobs. I hope they find a better situation. God bless them. |

If NWA is on the winning end all will do ok. If DAL is on the winning end, don't ever forget, no one comes before a DAL pilot, no one!
