Thats what I was told in when i got the call. I guess that was subject to the grievance being resolved between the company and recalls. Which hasnt been resolved. They said 3 months to hold airbus and probably 6 to hold 757. As of right now i got the panel but we have one in class who is thinking of swapping me so we will see.

One of the guys who started class Nov 19th 07 just got awarded an airbus rsv slot out of DTW in May, so I'd say 4-5 months is more accurate when it comes to getting the bus (he was the most junior pilot with an airbus award). At this point it's not really about the contractual issues but more the fact that there are quite a few guys bidding off the 9 onto the bus so new hires are backfilling those 9 positions right now.
DC-9 blocks out of DTW are only around 5 months away as well for new hires (right now) so plan accordingly if you commute (airbus blocks would probably be a year away or more for a new hire at this point). All subject to change of course, but that's the info off the last APA.

I recieved a call from Vicci on Monday but was out of the country. I called back Wednesday morning and she said that all classes were now filled to May or June. I was going to have a phone screening before the actual interview, but a meeting yesterday stopped any more interviews until may or june she said. Timing is everything right? My timing has been outstanding thus far in this industry.
I was trying to get an interview before any merger announcements were made. They still seem to be a few weeks to a month away from that, but if the merger goes forward I doubt any calls from Vicci will be made this spring. What do yall think?

So, NWA stopping interviews and DAL nearly doubling the number of interviewees per day and increasing classes to 50 every two weeks. Newhires at DAL going to the 767 international. I just crossed my 6 month mark and I can hold an FO position on any aircraft in any base excpet for the 765 or 777. If I wanted to go to NYC I could be in the top 30% on the 88 and a lineholder on the 767 ER. Do career expectations mean something in a merger because I think they are a little greater for the newbies at DAL.
