There were a couple of LAX slots in my class. All depends on what they need at the time. You can also try to swap with somebody while you are still in class if you don't get the domicile you desire. Later you can still try to change domicile if a spot opens up. No restrictions on that. You will be 'seat locked' in the aircraft you are assigned to for 3 years.

For those waiting on the post-interview offer, I just got the call on Friday (29 Feb). It was a little over two weeks after my interview. I heard all the talk about quick calls and was getting "somewhat" ancious. Good luck!

Thanks! Getting the call late on Friday was a good way to start a good weekend. I was walking out to the parking lot when they called and had to turn around to grab a few beers with the boys before heading home (called the wife first, of course...).
I noticed you start today. Enjoy. My date's not until mid-May. Can I pester you with a few questions sometime (hotels, bids, stuff to bring, etc?) I've read most of the old threads, but it's good to get the latest info.

Congrats,
It's a top notch operation in Denver. Everyone is happy to see the new faces in class. Everyone wore business casuals to class (no jeans) for the two weeks of indoc. You'll have a break after that before you start a/c specifics so it should be sufficient to pack for one or two weeks as you'll get a positive space ticket home for the weekend while you're doing indoc as well.
Bring a suit for your company dinner where you'll eat some great food and be presented with the UAL wings.
You pay for the hotel. Cost anywhere from $50 on up unless you wanna share a room with someone. There are apartments for rent short term but you probably will need transportation then. Cars can be rented for around $18-$20 per day.
Only downside is the pay is below par pretty much coming from anywhere.
Good luck and welcome to United!

I still haven't heard anything. I have been checking my junk mail box and my email daily, No phone calls either. It has now been 15 business days since the interview. A guy in my interview time slot got the call early last week. Anybody have any suggestions?

At this point you might want to call them, and let them know you haven't heard anything. Were you told 7-10 days at the interview? If so, you've gone by that long ago, and I would assume you've fallen through the cracks. Better to know than not, right. Especially if someone you interviewed with has found out. Give them a call, you should have the HR person's card from the interview.

I finally received the call today. It took about two weeks. I'm really excited except for the fact that my training won't be until August. The HR lady said that all classes were filled up through May and they weren't doing any new hire training in June or July. Oh well. Has anyone else heard this?
In the interview she said they were still planning on a total of 300 hires this year and were currently about half way there. However, I've since heard they scaled it back to 200. Can anyone confirm this?
