Thanks guys! Great Info. Would not want to illimunate the "SEE CHIEF PILOT" caution light!
Thought maybe of doing like my bud at Airways. (Kind of a "Shuttle Diplomacy" a'la Kissenger... Darn... showin' my age!)
One more question... how many days do you sit short call? I've read on this forum that it's contractualy 8 days. Is that correct? On average how many days do you spend on short call?
Thanks for all the newbie info!
MARTY!!

Not to get off subject but my ultimate objective is be based in ATL. (Even as the lowest bottom feeder on the Mad Dog.) What are my chances of either being awarded out of training or getting a transition on the next AE?
Thanks
Marty.
Thanks
Marty.

Marty,
Movement has been very fast lately but may slow down a little bit with the summer schedule, but I would think that '88 in Atlanta can never be that far off - especially if the hiring/AE's continue.

How often do they come up? Quarterly, Yearly, system dependant?
And, What about the MD-90's I heard about... any news of them?

AE's have been coming quarterly lately, but that's not guaranteed. Basically they come up whenever the company needs to fill vacancies, which is all the time lately with the growth and hiring. (Hate to give you another "it depends," but it depends...)
Getting ATL out of training is unlikely, but there may be a spot or two available to you if your last 4 are 9***. Otherwise, though, you should be able to get there on the first AE. Lots of late 2007 and 2008 guys on ATL 7ER conversion list now too...

I started indoc in the 7 Jan class and got 88s to NYC. In the Feb AE, I bid back to ATL in the 88, and even have several folks below me in seniority. Several of my classmates, and even new hires from the 2 classes after mine, bid to ATL on the ER. FWIW.

Sorry for the threat hijack, but on the international overnights, do they have to give you free internet, or are there places where you have to pay for it? Thanks.

I looked at schedules for March today and the junior line holder on the ER in JFK is an Oct hire. I hope the movement continues I don't have to spend too much time on reserves. There were several senior guys who have bid into the category on the last AE and I'm sure that will continue but things are looking great right now.

This is one of the things that's a downgrade with the intn'l flying. Almost nowhere offers free internet. There are a few places, though I can't think of which ones right now, that give you free net either in the room or in the business center. But I believe that you could just about count them on one hand. For the most part it's pretty pricey.
