But if I had to do it all over again from 0 hour I dont know if I would do it.

It sounds like you are from a foreign country...are you enjoying flying in the USA? Feel free to join the US Military, we could use your serices...otherwise please submit your application to your former homeland!;)

I'll agree to this statement. I just received and email from American Eagle that they just lowered the minimums for FO's.

And to think, I spent $21000.00 getting that 200 hours multi time when I could have just waited a little.

JS-

Or you could have gotten your MEI and saved $21,000.00 of your parents money.

When I was in college in the late 80's and early 90's, you could'nt sniff a regional job without at least 2000 TT and 500 Multi. You "might" have gotten an interview with those times if you got a recommendation from a captain. Maybe!

Now, regionals are hiring kids, yes I said kids, with less than 500 TT! There has to some sort of shortage.

I'm sorry, but it ****es me off to hear these 500 hr. pilots whining about their commuter jobs, when I look back at what I had to do to build time. Flight instruct, sightseeing, photo, charter, almost die umpteen times in the bush in Alaska, corporate, and then finally, when I had over 3000 TT and 500 multi, I landed an FE job with a crappy cargo airline! Whooohoo!

Anyway, that's my $.02.

Oh, now that I think of it I guess lots of 18.00/hr jobs and low paying major jobs WAS the pilot shortage we were all waiting for (sarcasm for those of you from Rio Linda)

No you don't need to be a US citizen but the jobs are very limited. i also think you are limited to being an enlisted person versus a commissioned officer. A recruiter could give you the best info.
