Your statement would indicate that union(s) could/should be able to save a distressed company. Isn't that management's job?
I certainly have an issue with ALPA, my prior union, regarding the handling of the pension loss, but anyone who thinks unions "are a false sense of security" does not, in my opinion, really understand how the job would be without them.

Funny I've heard the same thing from the crimson turds for the past 6 years...year 7 ditto. Roll turd roll into another season of high expectations, expensive coaching, & lackluster results!

... Organizations like ALPA are out to line their pockets, not look out for your best interest. Where was the union when United guys got bent over? Nowhere to be found. At the end of the day there are alot of people that have been hurt by organization, of course there has been some good as well. Unions from what I've seen and experienced really have not served the organizations I've worked for very well. Its only my opinion and everyone is entitled to that.
Why is it that almost every airline has to go through this experience? Why do we constantly need to reinvent the wheel and then have to prove that it really does roll?
Organizing a group is very difficult. Most don't want to be confused with the facts.
Good luck, Jet Blue.

Yes, that's it. Organizing has hurt a lot of people. Management is your friend. All the unions want, is your dues money.

I could see your point if you gave examples. I simply stated that I worked both union and non union. I have been treated much better at JB without a union. I never said management was my freind did I? No, those were your words. Im saying why mess with a good thing? I make as much as someone in a union right? The company treats its employees well, so what's the problem? You can't honestly tell me that ALPA, of all people, gives a crap about the "people". All I know is I dont want ALPA anywhere near JB. If you are an ALPA rep reading this, we dont want you, we dont need you and your not welcome trying to sell your snake oil here. We will take care of our own.

Uhhh...How about FedEx? Went from non-union to ALPA to in-house union and finally back to ALPA.
I'm not an ALPA rep. And, I really don't give a rat's arse what union you form. I was just pointing out that much of the crap you hear people say during an organizing campaign is just that, crap. Like, "Where was the union when United guys got bent over? Nowhere to be found." Many do not want to be confused with the facts of what a union is, what a union can do, how it functions and what the history of an airline's union might really be.
