Default Jumpseating to Hong Kong

Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to jumpseat to Hong Kong. I'm looking into going to visit a friend, and I haven't done any international jumpseating and have limited experience jumpseating on carriers other than my own. I know the basics, but just looking from some input from anyone who might have done it before. A zed fare might also be an option, I suppose. Thanks.

Continental flies there direct from EWR. Polar air cargo from ORD is probably the best bet.

Where are you flying from, and who do you fly for?

Which is why I highly recommend Polar or Atlas.

Also, a ZED to NRT opens up lots of options with UAL and NWA having about a dozen flights to the lower 48 daily from there.

Run with the Freight Dawgs, better food and way more room then coach. But its is more difficult to work your way on board if you've never done it before but well worth the effort.

I work for Piedmont and live in Charlottesville, VA. Nothing's looking incredibly easy out of here, except perhaps Northwest or United. I'll look into the cargo jumpseats. They sound like a pretty easy option. I think I read somewhere that FedEx doesn't allow international jumpseating. Is that the case?

True, neither FedEx or UPS allow international JS'ing. Most of the ACMI's do though.

Default Atlas or Polar

Atlas and Polar can get you there via LAX, Atlas also operates out of (ILN) Wilmington, Ohio through ANC and on to HKG 5 times a week.

When I went, I took NW on the way over. LAX to NRT to HKG. Then Evergreen Air Cargo HKG-ANC, then Alaska Anc to sea. Hope this helps.
