Yes.
Do corporate companies hire airline pilots?
No. Well not as much I am told because airline pilots are used to having everything done for them (dispatch filing flight plan, giving them weather and NOTAMS, gate agent boarding the pax, rampers loading the bags)
I hear that airlines love corporate guys because they are usually very professional and have good customer service skills.

Question Clarification
Badgeman:
Is your question "Do airlines have separate corporate flight departments, with a separate pilot seniority list?"
Possibly.
My first airline job was with Evergreen; they have a few corporate jets for the owner. (I think it was a Lear 35 and a GIII).
United (to my knowledge) does not, but it does have a separate group of pilots for maintenance flights--these guys operate under Part 91 only. I don't think they are ALPA. ALPA makes sure they cannot contractually fly passenger trips.
Under "Rumor only," I've heard FedEx has a separate corporate dept--Purple guys, any validity?
If that was not your question, then what Roper said is 98% correct. It is tough to get hired from the airline into the corporate world, but not impossible.

I've been done both. In fact I'd never flown part 121 before getting hired as an airline pilot. I was flying Merlin III's part 91 for an oil company when I got my first heavy jet airline job.
There are plenty of ex airline guys flying for corporations and their are plenty of ex corporate guys flying for airlines.
Heck for the first 4 years I was flying for the airlines I was doing corporate contract flying on the side.
Most of the myths you hear about corporations won't hire guys with airline experience and visa versa are just that, a myth. Companies in most cases hire the pilot not the background.

I agree with Airhoss it has to do with the pilot themselves. As to the main question, yes legacy carriers will hire GA pilots.

FedEx has an impressive flight department with domiciles in Pittsburgh, Memphis, Harrison (AR), and Dallas.
Challengers, Learjet 45s, etc.
If you fly for FedEx corporate for (I think) 3 years they give you the opportunity to bid over to the airline or stay put.

Yes they do/did. I was hired by US Airways in 1999. I had applied in 1998. I have a college degree, at the time had 8000 hours in my logbook, mostly turbojet one third of that time as PIC. My background was all civilian/corporate. I'm back into corporate, resigned after furlough in 2001. Good luck to you.
