You think Southwest lobbying the controllers is bad? You should check out the mega parties that companies throw for politicians in DC. Also if you have a problem with the tower, get the number and call. I bet SWA would have been thinking the exact same thing if they had gotten the go-around instead of you.

Funny - I have always thought that Alaska and Horizon got preferential treatment in SEA. Just remember, at 3000+ flights per day, there is probably a Southwest flight somewhere that will get vectored in front of you sometime during your next trip. If you think that's an ATC conspiracy brought about by pizza parties at some unknown location, you might be paranoid. Seek help.

Sorry for the boring thread, maybe we could talk about your leadership style and how pilots are underworked, overpaid cry babies?????
Your right, would you like some pizza? So they have pizza for the tower, who cares? Most of us have more important things to do than wonder if swa or anyone else for that matter is throwing pizza parties. Hey Little Caesers is having that promotion where you can get a pizza for five bucks and they're ready all the time. Now that's info you can really use!

As a pilot, I do care when somebody else cuts me off and almost causes a Class A mishap on the taxiway. If you don't care about that then more the power to you.

As an executive at another airline, I would care about my planes getting sent around, cut-out, or put in danger. Those things have the potential of costing you thousands of dollars. But hey, when your the CEO at CAL, you could just let them do it and take pay cuts for your pilots to make up for it....just an idea.

Yes, in BNA and RDU. From the CEO and BOD down to the Pilots, they have incredible political pull in our system. They know how to play the game. In PHL though, I haven't seen favortism, although I've heard they meet with ATC there (you know how rumors are though).

The question is, are other majors and LCC's throwing 'pizza and cake parties' to schmooze ATC? If not, why not?

Flying into LAS one morning:
ATC: SW, can you make it from there?
SW: What are you new?

'Nuff said.

In LUVs defense, wouldn't we all try a little harder to save fuel and be on time if there were an incentive program like LUVs. Things get done faster when you aren't disgruntled.

Note: I am disgruntled.

I am in favor of SWA cutting in line as long as I get pizza too!

Continental threw a party in EWR a couple of weeks ago for the controllers. Pimento cheese sandwiches and watered down immitation cool aid. When nobody showed they gave us the leftovers for our 2008 bonus.
