Not GOL...they fly 737's. TAM Brazil has several A320's.

I wouldn't think they'd come from TACA, since these are new orders. BBB has told recurrent classes that the a/c he's in the market for right now are used leases, to be returned once our own new orders come from Airbus.

My 2 cents: Something's in the works. I only have rumors to back up this assumption, but it's all we get around here. Two years ago, the rumors all had a positive spin to them, and positive things eventually happened (although not always exactly as the original rumor stated...). Then, 8-9 months ago, the rumor mill turned negative, and eventually negative things occurred (again, not always exactly...you get the picture). Now it's turned positive again, with our company officials (CEO, DO, etc.) hinting at positive things to come. So, taking a lesson from our recent past, one could reason that we're headed for some good news.

All of these different company names and quantity of a/c are popping up most likely as a result of ongoing negotiations, leaked out by folks in Miramar. In other words, say last week BBB spoke with LanChile about 10 a/c, so that was the news/rumor of the week. Next week, maybe it's Virgin/JB/USA 3000 for a different number of a/c. This will continue until we finalize a deal, IF that happens...credit is still tough to come by.

As time goes by, I am starting to feel more and more detached from NK. So forgive my negativity.

But would it not be the perfect time for BBB to ask the pilots for something in exchange of planes? Like: You know we could get your buddies back, but it is still real though. It will always be real though no matter what... True, fuel is trading low but it is still 10x higher than what it was in 1920!!! So how about pref bid and a subcrap contract or 401k tweaking? Whaddaya all think?

I mean this has been done here before if I am not mistaken. All this smoothing of relations... JC out, internal promotion of at least semi popular folks. BBB actually coming to recurrent hinting the good stuff like Santa before Christmas etc... Does this only stink to me? It is like Airlines 101. Little PR stuff before asking for something. But then again, sometime it seems not all the guys running NK have passed Airlines 101. I will never forget that these pricks even denied our seniority protection in case we had a job offer that required us to resign our seniority while on furlough. That was even in their interest. They have denied it because they could. There was at least one regional job that I could be doing now, instead of flying checks, that I did not take for this reason. So lets not forget who these people are.

Anyways. Sorry for being a jerk but I just wanted to get back onto notification. For whatever reason my notification stopped... thazzall... keep it coming. It is good to read positive rumors.

You're not being a jerk at all. I feel the same way. I got a couple of emails from the union shortly after the furlough, but nothing for a couple of months. It's certainly very disheartening. Even if there is no news, emails stating that should be sent.

FWIW, this is my second furlough (different airline last time) and the treatment from ALPA was the same in both cases. Seemingly well intentioned at first, but as time goes on communication slowly drops off.

Good luck to you, hang in there.

Sorry for not being clear on that. I meant notification of posts to this thread.

As long as your email address is current on the ALPA website (crewroom login), you should be getting the MEC fastreads, ALPA fastreads, etc.

Furloughed pilots are NOT removed from the email stream.
Furloughees get the same info EVERYONE else does:

MEC fastreads
ALPA fastreads
1-877-SPA-ALPA
Local Council Meetings
Other organized events as scheduled (Family awareness events, etc.)

You can also pick up the phone and call your elected status representatives (Capt.& F/O Reps.) if you have any questions about anything.

If you are not receiving emails from ALPA, PLEASE CONTACT THE MEMBERSHIP DEPT. 1-888-FLY-ALPA

You can also make sure your info is current by actually logging in to the ALPA crewroom section of the website to make sure.

I can't speak for not getting current and up to date info from the COMPANY. Even those of us still flying are usually in the dark on that subject.....

Normann:

Sorry to have put words in your mouth. I misunderstood your frustration.

X183:

Thanks for the information. Having given this some thought, my impression is that my Spirit ALPA stuff has been wiped out as I am at another ALPA carrier.

Read up a few posts earlier, he's already campaining for pref bid/change in scheduling rules. According to several who've been through g/s lately, anyhow. He has, however, mentioned modest pay increases as well for the pilot group.

They could try it, but I don't think they'd get it. I could easily be proven wrong...but we all feel pretty burned right now. No one I'm in contact with is in the mood for concessions, airplanes be damned. Time will tell on this one.

I don't think they would get it either. I am just saying I can see it coming. And that they have too do it before any planes arrive or else they would lose leverage. Something along the lines of:

"In order to get approved for credit, for new deliveries we have to show a leaner company."

How much leaner can NK get?

...well maybe on an individual basis some of our folks could work on that
