Got this from the European Union website.

The European Commission has today adopted the first EU list of airlines which are banned in the European Union[1]. This black list of unsafe airlines will now be published on the Commission’s website. The black list has been compiled on the basis of national contributions and after an in-depth analysis with Member State experts. The list consists of 92 companies which face a complete ban and 3 companies which face operational restrictions. From now on the principle will apply that companies banned in one Member State are banned in the whole EU.

Do you think they should adopt the same regime in the US?

I'm assuming that traveling on carriers based in the northern portion of the African continent is probably not the best idea. Then again, with the political upheaval in that part of the world I'm thinking that traveling there by any means isn't the best idea.

It would be interesting to see which airlines or cargo outfits are African, American, or European owned.

atpwannabee:
If you go to the link that Etops posted you will be able to see the airlines and their respective countries. There are no American carriers listed
