Don't think anyone said you didn't--don't go extreme on us, now.
They might not scare you, that's good. But there's acting because you're scared and there's acting because it's the rational, logical reaction to events/groups that are threatening the people of this nation and our way of life. I too believe in diplomacy before military action, but I also believe you only allow so many UN resolutions to be scoffed at before you say enough's enough. I too would love to be making more money, but as Spliff stated, there are more important issues at stake (and besides, I doubt the chosen one will really make a difference when it comes to your paycheck). I'm d@mn lucky to be an American and have the opportunities this country offers, and I for one would like to see it stick around for a while for my children's children and their children. In this case I think the decision is an easy one: a reasoned man with experience instead of an inexperienced guy who really hasn't accomplished much, but sure does talk well. Extremist action? In what regard? Asking for some ID when you come in this country? Enforcing immigration laws? Sniffing out terrorist cells here at home? If that's extremism I'll take it over anything less. PS Got the deployments, the medals, and the kills as well, but that doesn't give me any more or less right to voice my opinion.

Your problem is that you share some of my experiences, but I don't agree with you. I don't really believe that you are scared. If so, we would have did a true invasion and got the job done. I'm all for that. Just don't put boots on the ground if you won't listen to your military leaders and assure our guys that war was inevitable, so here are the tools/troops you need to ensure an overwhelming and decisive victory. That's what great counties send their military's to do; not build schools. Nonetheless, a lotta people made a lot of money on the backs of our military and the situation is worse now than then. You have no idea of what I did in the middle-east, nor do I assume that I know what you did. Don't know about your "kills" either, but wish you the best in dealing with that. In short, your opinions are based on your experiences; I respect that. But don't try to tell me how to post, and I'll do the same for you. I've earned and embrace that right.
On another note, anyone with any military experience, knows that the "surge", was in fact a classic strategic retreat. I'm not a pacifist. I do believe that war is the ultimate extension of the political/diplomatic spectrum, and should never be entered into half-cocked. Hope we can agree on that.

Topics Not for Discussion
There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics or religion. While DreamLaunch Media Ltd. and Airline Pilot Central embrace the diversity the world has to offer, these subjects often are very emotional and there are many different views. In our experience the wide range of views and emotions rarely contribute to a harmonious online community or beneficial contributions to the piloting profession.
