Default Commuting out of Atlanta - Parking?

Was wondering what the best option for parking is out of Atlanta. The airport doesn't have a monthly/yearly pass as far as I can tell. It seems the only option is to park at a hotel and catch their van - am I missing something? If parking at the hotels is the way to go, any recommendations? And what's the 'right' way to go about it? Just park and tip the driver (obviously) or should you talk to the hotel as well? Just want to make sure I've still got a car, and in good condition, when I get back from trips!

Thanks!

Depends on who you fly for. If your airline serves the airport, talk to the manager at your airline. I know that they can normally get you a pass to the lot that the stations employees park it. For a nominal fee of course.
Four us in Dallas with DAL it is less than 200 bucks a year.

I was an ATL commuter for a while and parked at hotels and took their vans as you stated. However, it was never a free parking deal. Most of the hotels charge 60 bucks a month to park there. Used to be 30 then 40 and so on. I used the Westin, Embassy Suites, and Marriot off Riverdale Rd. I would change hotels as prices went up but ended up back at the Westin when the price was the same for all of them. Westin had most reliable vans that ran a tight schedule. All of these are secured parking as well. I did check in to parking through the airport with the airline I was flying for and the cost was the same and parking was on the south side of the field. Since I'm a northsider it didn't make much sense to use it. Even longterm Marta parking was expensive. Some hotels get full too where the won't even allow any other monthly parking. The Hampton Inn on Riverdale was the cheapest at 25 but everyone there is grandfathered in and they won't let anyone else in. Good luck man.

I used to commute to DTW before I got an ATL base and when I did I parked at the Crowne Plaza off Virginia Ave. They had plenty of parking and didn't seem to mind that we rode. I never went inside. I just hung around outside till the shuttle showed up. I, of course, always tipped the driver too so they wouldn't make a stink about it to the hotel. Last I heard they put up some fences so only hotel guests could park there. That might be bad info though. Good luck.

There is no real good place to park for a commuter in ATL. I have heard the same hotels that Maddog mentioned. It's a rip off and I don't know what kind of safety and insurance they have to cover your vehicle if something should happen. I heard that The Parking Spot gives a good deal to airline pilots. You might want to talk to Wally Park too. My company has an agreement with them and all I pay is 25 bucks a month. It's cheap compared to the alternatives.

Thanks for all the input - the only parking places that have discounts for me are The Parking Spot and Fast Track. Both were $5/ day and no monthly option. I'll give a couple of the hotels a call tomorrow and see what they offer.

Thanks again!

go in and talk to the shift manager at Wally Park, they might cut you a good deal on parking..... good van service, secure parking, The company I use to work for used them, and I had no complaints.
