Herk,
Several months ago there were posts with you bantering against Greedy about unions at the Blue and it seemed as is if you were anti-union. So I was just curious if something had changed your mind.

ok water, since you seem unable or unwilling to read and or understand the pcrb report, I will give you some numbers:

Fact, JB’s yearly out of pocket max for medical not including prescription is $14,400 (read the fine print and add it all up) .

Fact I know of 1 190 captain and 1 320 captain who have to pay over $12,000 a year on prescriptions for their sick daughters (those are the ones I personally know)

Fact, if one of our 3rd year FO who are making barely 65k gets sick or injured and looses his medical he will get 39k taxed annually, which means a take home of 30k. However, if that fo has a family, after 6 months of being out on medical leave the company insurance ceases to exist, and he has to pay cobra, which for a family is around $1200 month, so his take home now is 18k a year and .If he gets a job other than flying, the more he can make is 13k year before our insurance will subtract dollar for dollar.

fact, is said fo is still unable to come to work after 24 months he will loose all medical including cobra and will have a hard time if not an impossible time trying to find independent insurance, specially an affordable one

Fact, a simple concussion will prevent you form getting your medical for 24 months

Fact, we are the only major airline with that crap loss of license which is really an LTD for all employee groups.

Fact, if herk (good forbid) falls down the jet bridge he will get a max of $500/week for as long and he is on OJI injury except months 3-6.
We are the only airline with that kind of pathetic OJI

fact, dave and the rest of his management team had plenty of time to "do the right thing" and choose not to. empty promises don't buy food or protect JB's pilot families.

fac, mangament lies to us . go tell them they have lost all credibility with the ""disgusting union guys" and wag you tell while you do it,you might get an extra big coockie or a pat in the head. good boy.

There are many other good reasons for joining a union I just don't think this is one of them.

I too wish you all the best whether you decide to join a union (would be my choice) or not.

I believe twa voluntarily give up all their merger protections on their cba since thats was a condition of AA buying them and taking all pilots. what would have happen to nwa or delta or Polar Air argo with no union?im sure nothing good.

"As I’ve stated before, our intention has been – and will continue to be – to build a company culture second to none in the airline industry." This was a qoute by Dave Barger yesterday in an email.

Do any jb pilots believe that our pay and benefits are second to none??? Company culture does not pay my bills or pay me what I am worth. I'm not saying our culture is bad, but the lies are starting to get on my nerves.

Slightly off-topic question, but do you guys still have a female management type that came over from UAL trying to change the world?

She "worked" at a flight school I ran years ago when she was coming up and left quite a "wake" as she passed through. ;)

A 3rd yr FO on $55/hr would come up well short of 65K/year correct?

Well it actually is a good reason. You may want to study the new federal law, Public Law 110-161 was enacted in December 2007 to prevent what TWA want through. It would not protect a group that was not collectively represented though, hence the reason for my post.

Herkulesdrvr 11-29-2008 08:56 AM

Does anyone know how long it takes to organize a vote? Are we talking days, months???

If another airline buys JBLU, you can all be stapled on the bottom as was done with Morris Air (non union) when SWA bought them. If you have a collective bargaining agreement (union), you could negotiate an integration or have it decided by an arbiter. If SWA were to ever buy another airline, I sure hope that they are not collectively represented. I do wish you guys the best in whatever you decide though.

So what are you suggesting - get a union to be 'protected' (like TWA maybe) or not have one - so people like you can staple the new guys to the bottom?
