My friend, the respect and kudos from your peers should be more important. The bean counters have no idea how challenging our jobs can be at times.

Well done!

I was happy enough the company gave me the rest of the day off when I had to say the "E-word"...yeah, probably just a good flight safety policy in general, but I don't need much more by way of thanks (although I'm pretty sure I did get an "atta-boy" letter from flight ops after the incident was investigated and put to bed).

Yeah, SWA is in the middle of a tough contract negotiation with us, but the B-day cards and the thank you cards they fwd with the occasional happy customer comments do mean something. I was especially appreciative with both the going away and welcome back package for my last tour in Iraq. It's a good company!

I haven't. Last time I spoke with a good friend of mine there was about three weeks ago, but he liked the pay and the time off last I spoke with him. I haven't heard any complaints about the relations.
