There's no sim portion on the interview. You have a LOI "Line Oriented Interview" in which you are given a situation onboard your "mock" aircraft and you are graded on how you handle it. Then you are interviewed by 3 people; one HR, and either two line pilots or retired pilots. You are pretty much there from about 8 am to about 4 pm in the afternoon. It was a great experience and people are awesome. A great company to work for..

I encourage anyone applying to SWA to view the video and take it to heart. Consider honestly why you want to work at SWA. If you're applying at SWA because you want to be an airline pilot you're surely to be disappointed if you can fake it well enough to get past the hiring board. SWA doesn't need pilots, they need involved employees.
Here's the Freiberg's website:

NUTS! is great for SWA specifics, but GUTS! is the one that will make you understand that the SWA concepts work everywhere, not just at some corn-ball transportation company.
I also recommend the book The Southwest Airlines Way: Using the Power of Relationships to Achieve High Performance by Judy Hoeffer Gittell.
Though I haven't read it yet, Lessons in Loyalty has also received good reviews.
Still, if you only watch Jackie's Video you'll be ahead of the pack in comprehending what gives SWA the culture it possesses. This type of work environment isn't for everyone so be honest with yourself. Don't waste your time even applying at SWA if you aren't fully willing to take the concepts to heart and live them everyday. While the corporate kool-aid is a lot of fun, that's not the foundation of SWA. It's attitude and it's the very personal ownership of the philosophy by the employees.

I'm not sure why this got started again, I started this thread last March 2006. As far as my interview went in April 2006, I thought it went really well. I had my three recommendations called and my chief pilot. Although; something somewhere must not have been good enough, I was not offered the job
The good news is that in 4 months my year will be up and I will have another type rating (EMJ 145) under my belt and with any luck I will get another chance to interview again soon. Good luck all and I think that video is some great gouge!
