"I'm just glad everyone from our extend family is okay. It's just very frustrating that they hate us so much."
Indians don't hate us where would you get that idea ? 30 terrorist slip into the country from the sea and shoot the place up is not 1 billion Indians hating us. There are lots of reasons this group did what they did and although we were the target, we most likely were not the reason. Please don't jump to such fast conclusions on pure speculations. For a start Google Kashmir conflict..JW

Doesn't REALLY MAKE you a bad person, I can see where you are coming from. However, if you really knew the Muslim Religion, you would see its not bad and they don't praise terrorism. It's actually a pretty intereresting religion. But yes there are extremist's that do bad things and claim their Muslim religion....

D F. Not bad just misinformed. Muslims have been praying in DTW and many other airports for all my 30 airline yrs. I've seen them ask to go in the galley and put the rug down too. BTW I've seen a few folks make the Sign of the Cross when they get on the A/C too.

Anyhow, India ... 1.2 Billion people make less than .25 cents a day and are fighting for basic survival skills, food, shelter, water. They make little mud mounds (huts) and sleep in them. In the area we stayed, we were surrounded by big lavish hotels. Two blocks down the road, pure squatter.
I've been to some real ugly places in this world .. India's poverty and human problem were on a scale I just couldn't get over. Yeah, we saw the Taj Mahal and some other awesome buildings that were just amazing, but I'll never forget that 6 hour ride through total poverty as far as the eye could see.
In New Delhi, we had several areas of town that were off limits to us due to tensions with muslims. Although I felt safe, I can definitely see how terrorism would thrive there -- it could be all that someone has to live for.

Sometimes I wonder if being a democracy hinders India's development in this arena? I know it sounds crazy but being a totalitarian state China put in strict rules on how many children one could have (or face severe monetary fines or rather being locked out from their government welfare network) and the growth of the population slowed down to more manageable levels.
Indians cannot do that being a democracy so people keep using children as their only form of 401K or support network once they get older. The more children one gets the better retirement one will enjoy. In the long run, no country can sustain that kind population growth...
I don't know how to solve the problem but a while back I watched a discussion on this subject on one of the business channels and all participants agreed that India's population growth will eventually spiral that country into even more poverty
and ultimately more violence...

I hope all of you that are talkin about povery in India are also aware that one of the richest people in the world reside there aswell. And as far as these nutcases are concerned they view Indians as infidels as more than 80% are Hindus and considered targets by Islamic terrorists, its nothing new this war has been waged by these lunatics since ages, difference is they use assault rifles,RDX and other modern weaponry where as in ancient times they used swords etc.
India and Hinduism is viewed by the Islamic hardliners as a hurdle to their plans eastwards, and they have been trying to crack this wall for ages.

Unfortunately, we Americans don't wake up to this fact until we're attacked every few years or so. For the terror groups, their reality is seeking ways to kill infidels and disrupt western economies every day.

Okay, getting back on topic ... I've got DAL, FedEX, UPS, and NWA accounted for. What about Continental. Anything?
It seems the only survivors in the hotels were those who managed to hide. Hostages weren't spared.
