Default Mumbai crews... Outcome?

On this evening of counting our blessings, I continue to think about the flight crews in Mumbai and their loved ones. Without getting into any specifics regarding whereabouts, etc - and certainly keeping politics out of this...

I am wondering if anyone knows conclusively whether or not they have all been accounted for, and verified that they are unharmed?

I have read both the company and union statements on this subject. Both make assurances that they are doing everything they can - but neither specifically state, "All of our crews are safe and accounted for" which has me concerned. The MEC's letter also alluded that several other airlines also had crews overnighting there as well. Do we conclusively know how their crews are?

Thanks. Best wishes to all.

DAL's eCrew said all crews are accounted for and safe.

Hmmm... I didn't see anything on eCrew. Where did you see that?

It was on DALnet. Not e-crew. We knew about their status last night.

Mumbai Attacks Put Hotel Safety in Question - WSJ.com

Some global airlines such as Delta Airlines and Continental Airlines Inc. said they are considering canceling their flights to and from Mumbai, while some Indian carriers are stopping their Mumbai flights.

What will this do to staffing?? Since JFK 777 only does Mumbai.

I've been keeping up with DeltaNet... I guess I read it differently than you did. I took away from it that they were committed to accounting for, verifying and ensuring the safety of our crews - but I didn't get the impression that they had been able to account for all of them. I'm so glad to hear that they have.

Glad to hear about UPS as well. How about the other airlines?

FedEx also has a layover in Mumbai....I still don't have definitive info from any of my old buds on their status.....Hoping for safety of all the crews in Mumbai...they were in my families prayers today.....felt a little guilty being at home eating turkey with family......

It is a temporary stop to flights. I cannot see the canceling them all together. Plus, isn't NYC going to NRT soon too?

Yes, and corporate security has taken care of the issues. Look at the Delta side of the ALPA boards. There is some more discussion there. I will not post it here.
