I noticed that the M88 training for the first few displaced guys... beer... is on a Friday. Just intrigued, figured classes would generally start on a Monday.

Only new hire classes always start on a friday. For guys already here, you start on any date that matches up with your sim schedule.

I agree. You don't look so good.
There is a nasty virus that's been going around.
Looks like you may have caught it.
I hate it when that happens.
Training on 2 different airplanes in one month is such fun.

But as they say, it's legal!

We kid around about calling in sick and how ridiculous it is for someone to have recurrent on one jet and then start initial on a different jet two weeks later but I think he could actually make a legitimate "safety" argument here.
I know there are lots of pilots qualified on multiple airplanes and they do it with no problems but there's got to be some degradation of knowledge retention involved. Limitations, procedures, etc.
Seems like a common sense rule should apply. It would benefit the company as well. Regarding costs and quality of training.
Maybe a 30 day rule.
Just a thought.

I agree, but as I said they will say it is legal per the PWA.

I have been qualified on two different fleets, it sucks and you do mess things up. You need to keep in the books all of the time. The question is how good can you brain dump your current jet for the next one?

I am sure that are expecting a lot of extra sim periods this time around. Too many people doing the short course.

Just think of all the CA displaced to FO, having to learn how to talk on the radio on the ground, reading the before start check, the walkarounds... Oh, the humanity!

BTW, still hoping for the training schedule to be out by these few days. Maybe I get to eat my precious crew meals for one more month:) It'll be tough to live only on biscoff and m&m again.

Beer's schedule no longer shows 767 recurrent, just M88 training. So his was dropped. Mine doesn't show my February recurrent dropped, I have vacation coming up at the end of February and that might be messing it up as I am right close to Beer in seniority but he is scheduled at the end of February to start.

If I do have to go to 767 recurrent then I'm just going to act like a pretentious actor... "whats my motivation here people? What's my motivation?!"

Beer, isn't that a VD and not an MD? I only ask that as VD's start training before MD's and MD's start in inverse seniority order according to the contract.
