Default Has your Chief Pilot ever tried to Undermind your Captain Authority.

1. How did you handle it?

2. Did you report to the FAA?

3. Did you report/ complain to his/her boss (VP of ops) ect?

4. Any disciplinary action for not folding to your Chief Pilot?

5. How did your Union help you out?

I am not PIC where I work, but if what you are asking were to happen I would submit an ASAP report that business day.

You can't get in trouble at all yet the FAA will sit there and read it and learn about what your chief pilot has done.

Thumbs down

TSA guys…you may remember that story about the Captain delaying the flight in the ATR-72 because the load sheet said zero bags forward and he knew for a fact there were numerous bags there. Supposedly the Rampers did not know how many bags there were so they put zero…the CA had them take them all out and reload them and tell him how many there really were. A few days later the CA got called in to explain why HE delayed the flight. Supposedly it went in his company record for delaying his flight because it is no his “job” to check the cargo and make sure it is matching the load sheet. Not sure if it ever really happened or what if anything happed as far as ALPA or FAA…just a story from the line.

I take it by your name Embraerflyer that you're at a regional where I know CPs can really suck sometimes and there are no options around them. I had my own problems with an assistant in EWR at Coex and I remember horror stories from Chautauqua friends who had a lot of problems with theirs. Just protect yourself, be wise and get your money's worth out of the union. If they suck, then protect yourself by whatever means you need too.

Also, keep in mind that CPs have a lot of pilots out there causing problems, idiots trying to run an airline from their cockpit and so on. Think through anything you do before you do it.
