I agree with you that it's not a good idea to discuss the details on a public forum.

Things have improved however the rule has not changed; also it is up to each airport's TSA supervisor to create his/her own rules. Source - TSA supervisor (and a friend) in ATL.

Trying to commute out of PNS is really stupid. Probably one of the hardest cities to off-line commute out of. I hope he/she made it.
