Anyone heard anymore news from the front lately?

EatinRamen 06-29-2009 01:36 PM

I heard the 4 732's from OzJet were a no-go. Something about it costing too much money to bring them up to spec.

Gas and upkeep are too expensive for those old types. There are too many 733/Airbi coming available from UAL and others to go chasing after cheap old airframes that will cost a fortune to maintain and operate. Even those old MD 83/82's they were considering aren't worth it.

Those days are gone.

Well that sucks. So I wonder when or if we will get more equipment. I'm also wondering if they're still dead set against anything not power by the hour. Man, that really popped my balloon.

what happened to pace payroll this week? pilots don't work for free!

SkiBum112 07-01-2009 10:32 AM

Aparently we do :) There was an email out about it. I guess they're "working on it"

Herman 07-01-2009 10:45 AM

someone should publish that e-mail. this is "Airline Pilot Central". my guess is that alot of your brothers out there would like to see (read for themselves) how pace airlines 737 crews are being treated today.

Agreed. You would think that with CAL's and UAL's 733/735's they are retiring, we could get great lease rates. I read somewhere that AeroMexico was trying to get rid of some of their 737-700's, but that would be a wet dream that would never happen at Pace.
