More Delta Scope Relaxation?
#21
Heck, Moak was supposed to come up to the ANC LEC meeting. We all had bets that towards the last minute he would give us some Candy As* excuse as to why he couldn't make it...What do you know...He is no longer coming...

I would venture to bet that these jets will not be flown for DCI. If they are, who wants to run for LEC rep?
I personally bet that they are for the MEH feed. They need the extra weight to get the gas on they need for some of those routes.

According to the 10K and what someone verified here, MEH is using 170's with a MGTOW of 86K. That's not to say that might not try to switch later on to end run our Scope via the new code share.
(Disclaimer - rant follows)
Of course I can hear the arguments already that Compass flies 36 of them to 89K already, and it's only 13 more, and the seats are blocked to 76, and it's only 3K, AND we can get shiny little faux gold trinkets and other worthless charms for the natives if we give them relief.
We are accelerating around the vortex of all NB flying being flushed to the regional carriers. Boyd and others are forecasting the 100-120 seat jet as the largest growth segment for the next 20 years, and the manufactures are calling these Regional Jets, pushing GTOW limits in our faces, and already flying the smallest of a up to 110 seat type at the feeders.
And we have a MEC that says this is good for pilots at DAL?
Which pilots - the ones close to retirement off a WB, or the pilots in the upper half of seniority list of the the roughly 30% smaller airline we have as a result of allowing this flying to begin with? And rather than try and recapture the flying, they embrace the same logic that led us here to begin with. "We have Stars upon Ours, and the 76 seat RJ's and their pilots have none upon thars"
Can you imagine anyone standing up 10 years ago in front of what was then a 6500, and 9000 pilot group respectively, and justifying that 76 seat jets were possible at the feeders, let alone good for us?

This Should **** everyone off at DAL. The MEC gave a little and mgmt is taking MORE. Whats going to be the MECs response to this? The CPZ planes are supposed to be the ONLY planes allowed over the weight limit.

Re: New ERJ-175 Weights
POH Bulletin 170-09-02, effective April 1, 2009, establishes new (higher) ERJ-175 weights for the Delta ERJ-175 fleet. The issue that has come up is that for the next several weeks, Shuttle America will be operating a mixed fleet of aircraft that are both pre-mod and post-mod for Service Bulletin 170-00-0016.
In meetings today with the FAA, it was decided that Shuttle America will operate the entire ERJ-175 fleet using the most conservative (lower) weights until such time as the entire fleet has been modified with Service Bulletin 170-00-0016.
We will post a notice when the entire fleet has been modified with Service Bulletin 170-00-0016 and at that time the flight crews will be permitted to operate the ERJ-175 aircraft at the higher weights.
Please give me a call at 317-******* if you have any questions.
New weights:
MRW 89,352 up from 85,870
MTOW 89,000 - 85,517
MLW 75,177 - 74,957
MZFW 70,547 - 69,886

I guess I might be missing the boat but who really cares about weights and why? Wouldn't seat count be all that matters? I guess you could say "well they could fly further" but then again that would just be a much a higher increase in cost with no increase in seat availability. Seems like there's other issues more important to be battled at the moment.
