Total Pilots Retiring at CAL UAL DAL ONLY by the end of 2031:
(age 65 taken into account until 2028, before that if anybody retired early they would still have been accounted for in a later year, but the "last 5 year" group will have a few early's but hard to predict)
20630

Let's make sure we hold the line on scope, with lots of pilots getting out and not that many getting into aviation, they will HAVE to pay more to start attracting good people. The companies are REALLY going to chase after MORE SCOPE RELIEF so they can keep the pilots at the regional tiers and pit them against each other. It is imperative that we get the pilots at mainline, not just a continual shrinkage.

What about American? It seems like those numbers should be big. Alaska?

What is in the ball park for a "whole bunch?" 100, 200, 300? Could prove very expensive for Abbott to have shot his mouth off in front of his suck-up chief pilots.

How does DAL have retirements prior to 2012? Did some sim guys come back to the line?

Default over encouraging numbers

Take into account mergers, and shrinking, consolidation for the industry and airlines going out of sight. There will be lots of pilots trying to get to three remaining majors.

Think they might be the 65plus former NWA FEs.

And the retirement numbers will change again when the pilots who fought for age 65 then fight for age 70.

Yeah really...this whole "if we can just hold out 5 more years **** will get better" thing probably won't pan out. I would be exceedingly happy if it did but I see more outsourcing of American (the country) pilot Jobs, and Mult-crew student pilot licenses ruining the windfall of retirements. Gulfstream and Great Lakes are bound to get RJs sooner rather than later and they will probably be greater than 74 seats.

I don't think I'm pessimistic. I just don't take anything for granted anymore.

Avoid professional piloting as a career. Get into radiology early.
