Simple...because they can. Until B6 gets a union, they will make empty promise after empty promise. They have us over a barrel right now. If we quit flying for JB where do we go in the meantime?

66% of our pilots are spineless.

It's not just the pay, the company plays games with seniority, A/C assignments, and pay.

I feel "kicked in the teeth" since we can't afford raises decent health care LoL and LTD protection that's worth a damn but yet we are posting a profit. Mgt. loves to talk about the "values", and how they "use the values to make business decision" It makes me want to throw up, what a crock-- like BrokeFOShow said they have us over a barrel, the sad thing is 66% of pilots seem to like it.

It's a mess over here.

1Q profit - very impressive. Most carriers were underwater on fuel hedging. How much did JetBlue lose on fuel hedging?

Or were they like Airtran? Buying spot-fuel prices?

I don't know the answer - anybody here know?

Be happy that you at least have a a job, and something positive will surely come of this. You'll see. Stay optimistic.

Go to work when you get one of the damn glad to have it jobs and get paid. You will be promised and told quick upgrade... won't come... bad economy oops company shut down, get another job. you get one. back to 1st year pay. happy happy! you are on month 26 now of $800 pay checks. you make it to second year pay woo hoo $36K a year now. you can afford raman noodles and real meat! lucky you... upgrade came and now you make 65K! well gosh now your 27,29, 31 years old. First time you make over $40K. Awsome! paid your dues your ready and cool enough now to fly BIG airplane! back to first year pay.... 30-52K now. all that experience and proffesionalism doesn't mean jack. Company says we want to pay you industry avg... ok sweet! oh yea well avg for the pearset that we not you choose. bummer. Wow i've been flying now for like 10 years, i don't understand how i would have only made 8k as a flight instructor, 27k as a freight dog, 17k as a 121 prop fo 22k as a 121jet fo, well things looked up at 65k as a 121 jet capt, back to 47k as a jet fo wait for it oh yea second year pay only 53k. sad that you will quallify for food stamps at some of these pay scales with all your professionalism and experience.

Dude, KNOW WHAT YOUR WORTH! That attitude will end you up at MESA with nothing to show for it in the end but an empty bank account and an RJ type if your lucky. Don't complain about not having a job, but once you get one being the professional that you are, expect to get paid like one, expect to get paid for your experience and knowledge. In the end don't just expect it... DEMAND IT. That is what we are dealing with here at jetBlue. sorry to drag on, but this one struck a cord.

My favorite part is that mgt. has been quoted as saying our peer group is Virgin America, Allegiant, etc., and that our pay is better than theirs.

Wait for it....

Mgt. just got raises citing the need to conform with industry standard pay.

I wonder whose peer group they are in?????
