How about they look in managements pockets. I'm sure there is more then $40 million in there.

The total package is 161 mil. over three years. It's a three year "deal". 300 furloughes or voluntary (not contractual) concessions to save those jobs.

I'd guess at every airline that has furloughees, the opportunity to voluntarily avoid furloughes might be welcomed.

Our goal for 2009 only, is a savings of 40 mil in exchange for no furloughes. We barely have 20 mil to date.

FF

Anyone know who is hiring ???

What are the reduction measures? There are ways that can save money, avoid furloughs, and not be concessionary. Are they going to offer buyouts to get some of the senior pilots to retire? Are they going to offer partially paid leaves of absence? Are they offering reduced schedules for those who volunteer for it? I know Southwest is offering buyouts and Delta said they would be doing the same. NJA is offering buyouts, voluntary LOAs with partial pay and full medical, and voluntary reduced schedules. I hope you guys and gals are able to negotiate something beneficial to both sides and not just force reduced hours for everyone or anything else that is a concession. Please hold the line on pay and benefits for the rest of the carriers to be able to point to in their future negotiations- the legacy carrier contracts have shown that once you give it away for whatever reason it is almost impossible to get it back. Good luck.

All of the above are being offered, and everything is voluntary.

There will be NO CONCESSIONS on pay and benefits. Period.
