And pilots don't get tired by being up with a baby all night, working their other job, or playing Call of Duty.

I bet those "Canadian Geese" don't even have a green card.

Still a good way from this I think. But I've said since the beginning that any changes in pilot rules will be to the detriment of the pilot. It sounds like any requirement to not commute or similar restrictions will likely be accompanied by a COLA (read: small pay increase designed based on inflation, and existing IRS CONUS tables, or the like.)

How about a cost-of-living increase for pilots to live near a city/airport? Every work group expect flight crew get this where I work.

I totally agree with you, any further changes won't increase our quality of life....

Good luck on this.

Would like to see a % of the number of pilots who commute in the Part 121 arena. This could be a can of worms that the Gov./FAA may not want to embark on when they look at the numbers involved in the 'commuter equation'.

Although I'm sure 'someone' will find a 'need' for emploring the path for a "commuting czar".

I recall the esteemed felon Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska saying that he was shocked to learn that pilots lived in Florida, and commuted to Alaska, and that something needed to be done about that.

Here at DAL total between NWA and DAL it is about 50%.

All this would do would guarantee you being at home one day a week. They would not change the trips.
It would be nice to get home basing though.
