Default Would you ever scab as revenge?

If your airline got bought, and you got stapled, would you ever scab as "revenge?"

We have a couple tools on our union board openly bragging how they can't wait to scab as "revenge" for their unfair seniority list integration. According to some of their sympathizers, there are several hundred others waiting in the wings, but don't have the courage to openly post their intentions.

What would you do if members openly professed their intent to scab while you were in Section 6?

No, but I am a man with integrity. Without my dignity, I am nothing. I like going to bed with a clean conscience every night. As to your second question, nothing. Let them say what they want until they actually cross. Talking about scabbing and scabbing are not the same thing.

That is quite short sighted. They should go talk to the EAL 757A's flight instructing at ERAU about doing just that.

At first I thought the revenge would be for all of the scope that has been given up and the whipsawing that has been allowed...

I know of more than just a few people between the ages of 60 & 65 who feel they were betrayed by ALPA on the age 60 issue and forced to retire at 60. Fired by their union brothers, in their minds.

They are just aching to cross an ALPA picket line.

Not defending it or advocating it. Just relaying information.

For me personally, though: NEVER!

Its my experience that you either have character or you don't. If you don't you will scab regardless. The only difference will be how you justify it. Kind of like sick leave abuse. The guys who abuse sick leave have always abused sick leave even when working under the best contract in the world. Now they work under a crappy contract and blame their sick leave abuse on that. The reality is their behavior has not changed, only their excuse.

Not altogether different than many of the "justifications" given for stapling your union brothers............I'm just sayin'
