JetBlue Jumpseat 3-day Embargo ATTN Commuters
Just wanted to drop a line to all the commuters who use JetBlue to commute to work. On Jan. 30, 31, and Feb. 1, 2010 ALL JetBlue cockpit/cabin jumpseats will be embargoed for online & offline jumpseaters while we switch to a new reservations system. You will not be able to call and list for a non-rev/jumpseat listing during those 3 days. Our jumpseat committee is communicating this info to all the jumpseat committees that we have an agreement with but I thought I'd pass it along here as well

The reasoning for this escapes everyone in Flight Op and the Chiefs were looking to allow off line Jumpseating but as of now is not happening.

Like too many other things here, Flight Ops has bowed to Customer Service and said "yes massa"...
I like several things about working here but the "kum-ba-yah" factor is about worn out and we as pilots really need to be asserting our authority in the operation. Unfortunately senior leadership still thinks gate agents and gay inflight supervisors are actually what move jets, and Flight Operations is too wimpy to stand up to them. Bring on ALPA.
PS several of us are trying to get the CPO on board with getting this fixed for jumpseaters. Stay tuned.

If you would all tell your FA's as well, I know lots of American and Delta FA's travel to and from work on JB. If you hear any of them talk about commuting on JB just give them a heads up also.
From what I had heard is that when West Jet made the change over they had a hot mess of problems and JB is just trying to be proactive and limit where those problems could come from and be able to deal with them quickly.
