Default Cactus Int'l Jumpseat?

I've been reading some things on our in house forum about guys being denied (by gate agents) from jumpseating on HP out of the country. I'm planning on going to SJD in July and would like some info from any current Cactus guys out there about what the status is. Apparently it all falls back on "some memo" written by "some mid-manager" that has been taken to heart by the gate agents. Any insight/workaround would be appreciated.

TIA

Yeah, it's true - no flightdeck international jumpseat. You can ride if there is a seat in the back. We have a crap computer system and no rush by management to change it. We can't ride FedEx because we can't get our pictures sent to their system. It's crap and we have been complaining for over a year. Maybe after the blood is cleaned up in a year after we are one big happy.

Don't know if many other airlines allow you to the jumpseat for international flights. At NWA, if a seat is avail in back, you can get it. But only NWA pilots are allowed the jumpseat internationaly.

That's right----CASS is only for domestic, not int'l.

Let me clarify: I'm speaking of riding in the back on a jumpseat - I realize we can't physically sit in the JS Int'l. Our guys are getting shot down completely on HP Int'l rides at an alarming rate. Here's a memo from our JS board:

From the ALPA Board:

Subject: America West Jump
Author: MIKE BENDETT
Date: 09 Jun 2006 04:36 PM
Roger,

Unfortunately one of our management suits took it on her own to write a memo to all CSR's that international jumpseats on AWA are no longer permitted.

When we found out about this, we screamed and the Company relented.

You are always welcome in the cabin jumpseat. You have to pay the taxes at the ticket counter and then fill out the jumpseat form at the gate.

If the agent gives you a hard time, have her look at "GG Jumpseat" in the computer.

Please have your JS coordinator contact us if you have further problems.

Again, you are ALWAYS welcome on AWA to all of our destinations.

Fraternally,

Mike Bendett

AWA Jumpseat Committee

I've talked to 2 guys who attempted this "GG" code thing and were still denied. Just wondering if it has been cleared up. BTW, you guys are really great to us and we appreciate it.
