Default Newark Breacher Arrested

Are they going to make this idiot pay for all the delays and other costs?

From NBC News:

NEWARK, N.J. - Police on Friday arrested the man they believe breached security at Newark Liberty International Airport, resulting in major delays and grounding flights for several hours.

Haisong Jiang, 28, of Piscataway, was taken into custody Friday night at his home, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said. He will be charged with defiant trespassing, The Associated Press reported.

The breach Sunday night led the Transportation Security Administration to shut down one of Newark Liberty International's three terminals for six hours, stranding thousands of passengers and contributing to major delays.

I was hoping they'd find him...after watching the tape it was obvious that he knew he wasn't supposed to go where he did.

The misdemeanor is probably the least of his worries...if CAL sues him for their losses he's got real problems.

The TSA needs to start forking out cash to the airlines for every screwup they do... freaking rediculous.

In China they'd just execute this guy.

The TSA agent was gone from his post for over a minute. So whose fault is this really? Maybe they should just execute him too.

All those wasted tax dollars and all the times they've busted our chops...

To fix this the Commander in Chief is assigning new tasks and mandatory reportings (which will create more jobs). What a boondoggle aviation has become.

Maybe we could get this system, along with some foutune tellers to help me find a way to do anything other than this to earn a living.

While the breacher is definitely in the wrong, I seem to recall from a previous lifetime a general order that went something along the lines of never quit your post until properly relieved.

Didn't a Georgia fan on his way to a game do this to ATL a couple years ago?

I think he got a short jail sentence.

The ultimate blame is at the feet of the TSA. No question about it. Continental should demand and get reimbursement from the TSA for the entire cost of this incident to their operation. We know the Tub Stacking Associate was moved from direct security-related duties so that probably means he was promoted. Ultimately he should lose his job and the breacher should spend AT LEAST 30-90 days in jail and pay a hefty fine.

The cameras WERE pointing towards it. However, several of the TSA's cameras weren't working at the EWR checkpoints.
